EOP Real Estate, LLC is my new home

I just transferred my license to EOP Real Estate, LLC.

I got my license 2 years ago and affiliated with the Long & Foster office in Olney, MD.  I was very impressed with the dynamic manager and immediately felt at home there.  Over these 2 years the office has seen many changes, some for the better, others not.  I have developed very special relationships with the other agents and I have learned a lot from them.  I am confident that these friendships and relationships will endure even though several of us have changed companies.

I have since moved (personally) from Olney and it was becoming increasingly inconvenient to use the office resources.  It was obvious that a change might be necessary.  I struggled with the choice of just transferring to another Long & Foster office close to my home or starting fresh with a new company.

My decision to change affiliations was not an easy one.  I am someone who is not good with change and I like to stay where I am comfortable.  However, I could not let fear hold me back from taking a chance that I think will be beneficial for my business.

After reading blogs by Dianne Aurit about starting a brokerage and talking to Stewart Penn about the benefits of being independent, I feel I need to give the independence (at least semi-independence) a try.  I am grateful to both of them for taking the time to provide me with important information.  I talked to my current and past clients and everyone indicated that they would work with me regardless of my affiliation.  All were supportive of my choice.

I decided on EOP because the broker is very dynamic and seems to have a good balance between allowing me my independence but still being available when I need him.  In addition, EOP Real Estate's focus on community service aligns well with my only value of giving back.

I am excited about this change and I am looking forward to seeing where this decision takes me professionally.

Stacey-Ann - that is SO exciting - we definately have to celebrate.  I changed brokers in July and am so glad that I did it, but it is hard, and Long and Foster doesn't always make it easy on you. Change is good though.  Since we are all independent contractors, we have to do what is best for us and to continue growing!! I am really happy for you! And if you ever want to change again, think about Coldwell Banker! Lots of hugs to you - Lise

I'm sorry to see you go. I though maybe you might have joined us in Crofton.

Much success in your new venture. I know you won't forget your old friends, and we won't forget you.

Hi Stacey-Ann, I wish you the very best in your move. I'm like you and don't like to make those changes so I can appreciate that is was a difficult decision for you.  Wherever you are, I have no doubt you will do well!

Hello Stacey.  Congratulations on your new change... In life, we do take new steps.  Be encouraged as you go forward.... and remember, a "feeling" of fear is NOT fear, unless you act on it.  I was blessed to receive FOUR new agents this year!  Another, for a total of 5 will soon be finished with school in 3 weeks!

Lise - thanks, I am feeling very excited.

Tom - I don't know too many of the other people in the office yet.

Rich - I thought about Crofton, that's probably where I would have transferred but I decided to give something else a shot

Mary - This was a difficult decision.  I finally had to just do it.

Diane - Thanks for the support.  Congrats on getting new agents this year.  That's what I hope to do in the long run.

Martha - Thanks.  I have actually been to the Crofton office and I even met Rich Iarossi there a few weeks ago.  The Crofton office was actually one of the two L&F offices I was considering before I decided to try a completely different thing.  I am looking forward to meeting you too.  It was fun to meet Rich.  I think it's always interesting to meet blog buddies in real life.

I saw the C mentioned wanting to meet me and I am incredibly flattered.  I have cleared my calendar completely on Friday so I will definitely be there!
