Someone asked me the other day what was my favorite Christmas present that I had ever recevied. This was an easy one for me. My favorite present was in 1996 when my then boyfriend gave me an engagement ring in my Christmas gift. We had been dating for 5 years at that point and had both just graduated from college but it was a surprise nonetheless. That was obviously the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
The I-phone I got from my husband last year comes in a distant second. My husband is a wonderful gift giver so it would be hard to choose a third place from all the wonderful pieces of jewelry that he has given me over the years.
I am curious what Christmas gifts stand out for other people.
Whatever Christmas brings, I hope it's a happy day!

FINALLY! A DOCTOR WHO MAKES HOUSE-CALLS!

For me it was last year when I received a used diamond ring from my husband. I wanted a new wedding ring but I got this diamond ring instead. At first I was disappointed because it was not what I asked for but over the year I started to appreicate it and its beauty and his thoughtfulness. He got for me what he wanted me to have...and it is something I would have never picked out for myself but it has other meaningful memories and I decided to stop being spoiled and appreiciate what I have because this year to date I haven't received anything new, but the money he gave me to purchase something for myself, I had to pay bills as my business wasn't doing as well as it has in the past.
My ring is a great quality and unique shape and I love it.
Stacey, that's a good question and one I've never really thought about...off the top of my head I would have to say it had something to do with my new Harley!!!
Veronica, that was lovely.:-)
Dr. Stacey, my fave gift was my three year old putting a battered bow on top of a scratched, fave over-sized hot wheel car and giving it to me. He was quite serious about me "opening" my present and driving with him on the rug (LOL). Can not wait to see what he re-gifts today. :-)
Merry Christmas everybody. :-)
Stacey,
Wow, just got it last night. As we were leaving my daughter's house (after our journey with way too many toys and such...just went overboard...again) ....Rylee tugged on my sleeve and handed me a little bag. She forgot to give it to me in the rush of her opening fifty eleben presents....I opened the bag and pulled out a hand crafted coffee mug....the label read "Pop Pop".............one coffee cup and thousands of memories all wrapped up in the moniker "Pop Pop".
Merry Christmas to you and the old man...John
Veronica - that is great. I bet you'll treasure that ring always
Nick - a new Harley sounds like a good one
C - What did you get re-gifted today?
John - Ahhhhhh!
Stacy - I think my favorite Christmas gift ever was my son, our first child of the four, who was born in mid-December 1998. :) If you want to know my favorite material gift, I got two of them today - a Kindle DX and an authentic NFL Dallas Cowboys jersey!
Jason - Happy Birthday to your son. Dallas Cowboys huh? You know how much we love you all here in Redskins territory :-)
