This weekend my husband and I went to Leesburg, VA. On Sunday we had lunch at Not Your Average Joe's Restaurant in Landsdowne. The atmosphere was incredible pleasant and friendly.
When we got our orders my husband loved his. However, I was not so impressed with mine. Let me say though that I am an incredibly picky eater and it is not unusual for me to not like my entree. The waiter (John T) asked me if I wanted to take it home with me and when I said no he asked if I had not liked it. When I answered that it was ok but that I didn't love it he immediately went about trying to rectify the situation. He offered to get me something else.
The manager then came over and apologized for my not liking the meal. She took the meal off the bill and then gave us a gift card and a coupon so that I could try something else the next time we were in town.
This is a great lesson in how important service can be. I would have left Not Your Average Joe's Restaurant and never returned simply because I was underwhelmed. However, based on their response (and the gift card) we will go back when we are in Leesburg again in a couple weeks. The excellent waiter and manager ensured that I left there thinking about how wonderful they had been rather than how much I didn't love the entree.

Hey Stacey - my fiancee and I discovered Joe's when we lived in Lansdowne...now we come all the way from Selma Estates (off Route 15N) to enjoy the service and great food. I enjoy their fruit sangrias, he loves the "microbrews" they have on tap - and you cannot leave the table without having their bread and olive oil!
