Gingerbread House Contest, Upper Marlboro MD

The family and I went to see the Gingerbread House Contest in Upper Marlboro yesterday.  As usual the entries are amazing.  One of the rules is that all ingredients must be edible.  My kids were impressed with the creative uses for candy, chocolate, and crackers.

This one was a winner in the child's category.

As avid Spongebob watchers this one was my kids' favorite in the child' category.

The adult entries were amazing as well.

This was the first place winner!!!!

Oh, they all took a lot of work and creativity, but I have to say I do agree with their 1st place choice - very original take!

The creativity is just wonderful.  These have come a long way from the basic model!

Stacey-Ann - I'm always amazed at the creativity and artistry of some people.  I can certainly see why that one won first place - what attention to detail - even the planking on the floor.  And, the winner in the child's category - the "snow" on the roof looks so natural.

Thanks so much for sharing with us.
