National Wear Red Day - February 4, 2011

Heart Disease is the #1 Killer of Women in the United States.  Many people erroneously think that breast cancer is the #1 killer.  Because of this misconception heart disease in women is often overlooked and under diagnosed.

Many women do not experience the classic symptoms of heart attack such as chest pain.  Therefore, when women are diagnosed there heart disease is often very advanced.

Friday, February 4, 2011 is National Wear Red Day to help being awareness to heart disease in women.

 

Hopefully you will wear red tomorrow and also use the opportunity to monitor your BMI, blood pressure, and cholesterol.  

Learn the risk factors for heart disease and how to protect yourself.

I would have forgotten if not for this! Feb 4th is the princess mama's birthday! We've already had her party, but hey.... we're having cake AGAIN and we shall wear RED! :)

I'm wearing Red today! Thanks for the information.  As women tend to focus on everyone else, sometimes to our own detriment.  This is a great reminder to keep our own health on the radar. 

I also think it's really cool that Ed (and other men) are so willing to support this cause!

It doesn't cost a thing and red looks good on almost everyone!!
