I was blown away by the opening ceremony for Bejing's Olympic games. Wherever the bar had been set, these ceremonies cleary surpassed it. I was awed by the precision that it took to orchestrate so many participants. I hope that this is just a sign of the wonderful games that will follow.
As always the parade of nations was my favorite part. However, I was impressed by the ending fireworks, the torch lighting, the inspirational story of the little boy walking with the China team. I'm curious, how other people felt about the show.

I agree with you 100% The entire thing was amazingly well choreographed and visually stunning. I think it took the "opening ceremony" to, not the next level, but 2 or 3 beyond. Kind of drove home the point that from a technological standpoint China can kick our you know what. I really enjoyed watching it. Every time they finished a piece..I though WOW that was incredible and then they would top it with the next routine.
I was with you...I was captivated. I think that is the first time since Atlanta that I have watched the entire ceremony. Very creative and well produced. The kid was a great story.
I just caught the torch lighting part with the 8 runners and the fireworks, it was amazing! That firework display was so great it is nearly indescribable.
Stacey-Ann...
Very, very impressive. I can't even imagine how the folks in London feel ... how are they going to top that?
Stacey... I did nt see it.. I did see something about the USA taking a GOLD
Raylene - It really did keep getting better and better.
Trey - I know, I never am able to watch the entire thing, but I did this time.
Tony & Darcy - The torch lighting was absolutely amazing.
Richard - London must have watched that in horror.
Roland - you should try to catch it on the internet or somewhere. USA has won a few golds so far.
Stacey, I was "Wow'd" by the opening as well, I missed the begining of it so I did not see the 2008 drums being played... And am sorry I tuned in late... but it was amazing at how precise they could be with such a large cast. I doubt that London will even try to match let alone beat this opening ceremony... so far the games have been fun... I have seen a few world records not just broken, but SMASHED... I am hoping that Phelps gets his 8 gold medals...
