Transitions can be a huge pain!

I have a client who is trying to rent a home.  He is from out of town and only has a short window of time to find something.  He found listings yesterday that he wanted to look at early this morning.  I set about trying to make appointments.  Only a few were listed with a showing service and I was able to set those up.  All the others said "Call office" or "Call lister".  Of course no one has returned my call.  They all have sentrilock boxes and I don't convert until Tuesday.  No way for me to get in until someone calls me with the magic one-day code.

My client and I had to postpone our showings until tomorrow evening simply because I don't have the correct lockbox opener.  Many of them are vacant so we could have gone even without contacting anyone if only I had transferred to sentri lock already.

I will be very happy when this transition period is over and we can go back to having one lockbox and I won't have to juggle hundreds of combos and one-day codes.

Stacey-Ann, that really is a bummer when agents don't return calls when you're trying to set up appointments.  Transitioning from one card key type to another sucks big time too.  Just keep trying.

I don't know what your regional rules are but, I would never go into someones listing without permission, vacant or not. If someone was in my listing and I was not informed, I would be very upset. If your area operates otherwise then it would be okay!!

Lanette - I figure it will all be a little easier once I make the transition to sentrilock.

Ray - many of the vacant listings say "just go" ,"show anytime" or "call, and if no answer leave message and go" and any number of other instructions that indicate it would be ok to show even if the listing agent does not get back to me in time.

Maybe I should be glad that Kauai is a bit behind the times.  We've never heard of Sentrilok boxes over here.

Richard - i'm hoping that once the transition is done, sentri lock will be an improvement (we'll see).
