Cover Not Her Daughter

Synopsis – Not Her Daughter

Another woman stole my husband. So I took her baby.

Everyone thinks I’m just a single mom, trying to rebuild my life. They don’t know the truth I buried, along with my past.

My name is Evelyn Moore. I used to be a respected lawyer, a devoted wife, mother-of-one. Then came my husband’s affair. The scandal. The panic.

Now I’m a mother of two. At least that’s what I tell everyone.

We’ve come to the small Pennsylvania town of Asheboro for a fresh start. Five-year-old Ben, baby Nicky, and me.

Then I get home to find a folded piece of paper on the kitchen table. Did you really think you could keep her?

My Review

Not Her Daughter: A BRAND NEW totally addictive psychological thriller with a shocking twist by Robin Mahle

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Not Her Daughter is book 2 in a series. I read it as a standalone but I do think some things would have been clearer if I had read the previous book.

This book starts with an interesting premise and hooked me from the start. The writing style was engaging and had me turning the pages. I even had Alexa read to me at times because I did not want to stop. Because of this I finished this one in almost 1 go.

In many ways this felt more like a domestic drama than a true psychological thriller because some of the twists were foreseeable but I still enjoyed seeing how it would all unfold.

The story fizzled for me towards the end. I think shortening it slightly would have allowed it to hold the tension right to the last page.

The epilogue seems to be setting up the potential for a book 3. This is my first book by this author but I enjoyed it and intend to go back to read Book 1.
