Andraya Valentine is the author of The Boss’s Proposition, her debut novel.
Book Synopsis
Corporate by day, escort by night, Journee does what she must to take care of those closest to her and make ends meet. When her two worlds collide, she is met with a proposition that may cause her more trouble than she bargained for.
After a life-altering event, Ellis has vowed to remain a bachelor forever. When life causes him to cross paths with a woman who intrigues him to no end, he comes up with the perfect proposition that may satisfy both of their needs. However, even perfect plans can come with unexpected risks and obstacles.
How did you get into writing?
I’ve always had a desire to write, but always let fear and the thought that no one would want to read my writing stop me. The most essential advice I was given was: “Just start writing”. My family and friends also played a big part in me actually writing. When I shared the idea of wanting to write a book, all of them said “Do it!” Having that unwavering support definitely gave me the push to put my fears to the side.
Is writing your full-time job?
Writing isn’t my full-time job, maybe one day it will be. I am actually a counselor full-time.
Where did you come up with the idea for The Boss’s Proposition?
The way this book came about is absurd even to me! I literally woke up in the middle of the night and the first line of the book was the first thing on my mind. I immediately grabbed my phone and started writing the first few paragraphs right then. The fun part was deciding which direction I wanted the story to go.
Do you have plans for other books?
I have two additional books in the works, both of them are a spinoff of The Boss’s Proposition. I’m praying that this is just the beginning and that I have many more books to follow.
My Review
The Boss’s Proposition by Andraya Valentine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I do not usually read romance novels but something about this description caught my attention. I surprised myself by how much I enjoyed this novel. I read it all in one day.
The characters were endearing, and I found myself interested in the outcomes. The dialogue was authentic, and I laughed out loud several times at the way the characters related to each other.
There is quite a bit of spice and some crude language so be warned if that is not your thing.
The book ended in a way that I could see the author writing a sequel. I would happily read more about these characters and their lives.
So glad I picked this one up.
