My Review
The Empty Side of Our Bed: A Journey Through Love, Loss and Moving Forward by Bill Beckett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Moving
This is a moving memoir about the authors struggle with grieving the loss of his beloved wife. He is very honest about the ways her loss left a gap that can never be filled. I appreciated his sharing his journey and you could see the difference in him and his “healing” by the epilogue.
There were times it felt a bit repetitive – but maybe that is emblematic of the grieving process.
I loved the pictures that were included and I’m interested in reading the author’s other book about his wife’s cancer journey.
Overall, I think this book will help other people going through loss to feel less lonely as they navigate the really tough days.
