Synopsis – The Love We Chase
Lottie’s relationship with Greg ends when he leaves her for Emma, a decision that links their lives in ways neither woman could foresee.
Emma traps Greg into marriage when she becomes pregnant. Later, a one-night stand leaves Lottie carrying Greg’s child, forcing them into an uneasy co-parenting arrangement.
As both women navigate their complicated ties, they build an uneasy alliance. And when Lottie faces the ultimate challenge, she is forced to ask Emma for help. Can two women who once loathed each other come together during a dark time?

My Review
The Love We Chase by Alison Irving
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I actually read this book in one sitting. Once I started, I was definitely invested in the outcome.
Reading this was an interesting experience for me because I did not like any of the main characters but yet I did want them to find happiness anyway. I found both women to be awful and especially the main character, Lottie, I wanted her to get a backbone and also to recognize her own selfishness. However, the author did a good job of character development because I did see maturity from the start of the book until the end. Both females had grown and made much more rational choices.
The story spoke to how the choices we make always have consequences. Some bad and others unexpectedly good. This is also a story about friendship and the idea that family doesn’t always look the way we expect.
This was my first book by this author, but I would definitely read her other work.
